Country stars Lauren Alaina and Craig Morgan are set to star in new reality TV competition on CBS, and the Survivor-style show aims to push them to their limits.

Announced today (February 3), Beyond the Edge will pull nine celebrities out of their luxurious everyday lives and drop them into the dangerous jungles of Panama, “where they face off in epic adventures and endure the most brutal conditions.”

Pushing the contestants way outside their comfort zone, Beyond the Edge comes from the producers of Naked and Afraid and will played for a good cause. Along with the country stars, the show also features former NFL champion Ray Lewis, NBA champ Metta World Peace, supermodel Paulina Porizkova, NFL legend Mike Singletary, actress Jodie Sweetin (Full House, Fuller House) and television personalities Colton Underwood (The Bachelor) and Eboni K. Williams (The Real Housewives of New York City).

Over two-weeks of shooting, the stars had to endure the harsh Central American jungle and everything that comes with it, but producers have set this show up differently than other reality competitions.

Beyond the Edge won’t include judges or eliminations – instead, each celebrity must just figure out a way to tough their experience out. “For each day they last, and every grueling adventure challenge they win with their team, the celebrities will raise more money for their charities,” says an official announcement. “If a player reaches their breaking point, they can ring a bell to signal that they are ready to go home. At the end of the 14 days, the top two earners will go head to head in one final adventure, to see who can become the Beyond the Edge champion and take home the most money for their charity.”

Alaina is playing for The Next Door, and Morgan is raising money for Operation Finally Home.

“Can’t wait to get y’all Beyond The Edge of your seats!!” Alaina says on social media. “I’m so excited to be part of the new @cbstv reality series #BeyondTheEdge! It was an experience unlike any other.”

Beyond the Edge will premiere March 16 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. Showtime sports announcer Mauro Ranallo hosts.

Alaina is set to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry later this month. She appeared on Dancing With the Stars in 2019, and Morgan is the long time host of Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors.
