When Lauren Alaina hits the road with Jason Aldean this summer on his 2018 High Noon Neon Tour, she sees it as an opportunity not just to garner new fans, but show the superstar how much she’s evolved as a performer.
2018 is the second time Alaina will be out on the road with Aldean, following an opening stint on his 2012 My Kinda Party Tour with Luke Bryan that served as her first appearance on a major tour, an experience she’s still grateful for.
“I got to learn so much on that tour and I had no idea what I was doing, just totally making it up every single day,” she admits.
The “Doin’ Fine” singer looks forward to performing for the crowds of thousands that Aldean draws, but is also eager to prove just how much she’s progressed in the six years since they’ve toured together, earning herself a chart-topping album, her first No. 1 single with “Road Less Traveled” and another hit as a featured vocalist on Kane Brown’s “What Ifs,” which is certified platinum.
“He has so many people at his show, so that’s a really good opportunity for me, but I’m also really excited because I want to show him how much I’ve grown. I don’t know that he’s seen me on stage since then,” she explains. “I want to be able to thank him for that growth because he set that up for me to be able to grow and learn how to be on the road and how to be on stage. It’s going to be a really big summer. I’m really proud.”
Aldean kicks off his High Noon Neon Tour on May 10 with Alaina and Luke Combs, traveling across the country through September. The tour will include a show at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia on July 21, featuring a special appearance from Hootie & the Blowfish.
