Lauren Alaina returned to where it all started for her on Thursday night. The Georgia native hit the “American Idol” stage to perform her new single, “Barefoot and Buckwild.”

The song is the lead single off of Alaina’s upcoming sophomore album and was co-written by the singer herself. No date or album title have been revealed for the project, but the Idol runner-up has been working hard on the new record. “We want to make the best decisions possible with this album. It’s crucial. What makes you or breaks you are the songs you pick and the songs you release to radio, and that’s what we’re focusing on right now,” she explained back in January.

On top of working on her sophomore album, Alaina has also recorded the theme song for SeaWorld Orlando’s newest attraction, “Antarctica: One World, One Family.” To hear the song, click HERE.

“American Idol” has also had its share of Country artists hit the stage this year. In addition to Keith Urban becoming a judge, Carrie Underwood and Casey James returned to the stage to premiere their new singles. Scotty McCreery and Kelly Clarkson also performed their new singles on the hit show earlier this season.

The “American Idol” finale will take place next week. Contestants Kree Harrison and Candice Glover will face off to win the coveted title of American Idol. For more information and air times, click HERE.
