Leah Turner Talks About ‘Cowboy’s Love’

Born and raised with a cowboy upbringing, Leah Turner dug back into her rugged roots for her newest song, “Cowboy’s Love.” The song brings a little bit of home back into the meaning of her music, which was a special moment for Leah.

“I thought I lost a little bit of the cowgirl side of me instead of my previous stuff, and so I really wanted to retouch those roots, so went in and wrote this song with Niko Moon and Tim Nichols,” Leah explained to Sounds Like Nashville.

She got even more in tune with her California country side while filming the music video for the single out in a place that was close to her heart.

“In the video, we shot it in California at my dad’s roping partner’s ranch. I’m driving my dad’s truck in the video and you know the scene where I throw a saddle in the back of the truck and that’s one of my dad’s championship saddles. So it was really cool to have the authenticity of it there and have my dad sprinkled around in it.”

The video for ‘Cowboy’s Love’ garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube within the first week and even debuted at No. 2 on CMT’s Pure 12 Pack Countdown. The success of the single will be followed up with new music at some point, but at the moment, Leah is just letting the moments soak in. But she does not want people to forget about the guys and gals in their ten-gallon hats.

“We’re just continuing to push ‘Cowboy’s Love’ and getting that rumble back under Tennessee. We’re letting them know that cowboys are here to stay!”
