LeAnn Rimes to Release New Album, ‘Lady & Gentleman’ September 27

LeAnn Rimes announced that her new album Lady & Gentleman will hit stores on September 27. Rimes first shared the news with her Twitter followers on Saturday.

“I have been told “Lady and Gentlemen” will be released Sept 27,” she tweeted. “Very excited to share the album w/ my fans!”

The album, which was executive produced by Vince Gill, Darrell Brown, Rimes, showcases LeAnn’s vocals on country classics that were originally performed by male recording artists. The entire album has been rearranged and reinterpreted by Rimes.

“This album was born out of the memories of when I first fell in love with country music and in reflecting, I realized that almost all of my favorite country songs from back then were sung by men,” says LeAnn. “€œI am honored to take a step back in time and sing these songs from a woman’€™s perspective and hopefully help reintroduce them to a new audience.”

Fans first got a taste of Lady & Gentleman last year when LeAnn released the remake of the 1983 John Anderson hit, “Swingin’,” a song that earned LeAnn a GRAMMY nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

According to LeAnn’s official website, Lady & Gentleman will also feature several bonus tracks including a remake of her signature ballard, “Blue.” “I have been performing the song for years, it’s become a classic that people love just as much as I do, so it felt natural to remake the song for this album that covers country classics,” she says.

In addition, the album will also feature two new original songs, including her current single, “Give.”
