Lee Ann Womack Admits Some GRAMMY Attendees Are ‘Not So Nice’

Lee Ann Womack is no stranger to the GRAMMY Awards. The Texas native has a slew of career GRAMMY nominations, and has attended the show several times since she first rose to fame in the late 1990s.

This year, Womack attended “Music’s Biggest Night” with a pair of nominations for her song “Chances Are,” one for Best Country Solo Performance and another for Best Country Song. While on the red carpet, Womack was interviewed by CBS News and got quite candid about her thoughts on attending an all-genre awards show.

“It’s interesting for someone like me, who really mostly only listen to country and bluegrass, really traditional American music, to get to see all the other genres and the way they behave a lot of times, which is not so nice,” she shared. “They’re not very nice, I have to tell you.”

It wasn’t just some of the artists who were off-putting to Womack. Sometimes, it was their bodyguards, who got a little too close for comfort.

“I don’t like getting shoved aside by people who are two times my size,” the singer quipped.

Thankfully, Womack doesn’t have to worry about run-ins with bodyguards twice her size because that doesn’t happen at Country award shows.

“It better not,” she laughed.

Leave it to Lee Ann Womack to lay down the LAW.
