Lee Ann Womack Is A-Twitter For Join My Village

Lee Ann Womack fans and Twitter users can join the multiple Grammy and Country Music Association award winner for a live twitterview on iVillage on Wednesday, March 9 from 3-4 pm ET by following hashtag #LeeAnnJMV. iVillage, the leading digital women’s site, will host the live chat. The event caps International Women’s Day and brings together country music fans and those who want to learn more about how Womack is working with organizations like CARE, General Mills and Merck to fight poverty by empowering women and girls in Malawi.

For the March 9th chat, Womack is ready to take on all topics, but she’s hoping participants will be inspired to learn more about her involvement in Join My Village and share their own stories about how they’re making a difference on behalf of women and girls in their local communities and around the world. Submit your questions to the iVillage Twitter handle or the Lee Ann Womack Social Club Twitter handle using hashtag #LeeAnnJMV.

“As a mother when I saw the living conditions in Malawi, I could only imagine how those women feel,” explains Womack. “There is so much they lack” and small contributions can make huge differences, which is why when General Mills approached me to partner with them for Join My Village, I couldn’t say ‘Yes’ fast enough. All you have to do is Click” and money is donated through CARE, which is one of the best advocacy groups I know of.”

“And for me, to be able to help, that’s the greatest gift of all,” Womack explains. “I’ve seen the way learning has opened up the world to my daughters” and it’s a gift that can hold the key to the future for the people of Malawi. Help me help them… and come to the Twitterview, too! I know you all have a buncha great questions, and if we can turn this into an opportunity to understand why I’m so invested in this cause, then we show so many other people why country music fans care more than any other!”

On Wednesday at 3pm EST, join Lee Ann Womack for a heart-to-heart opportunity to take your Twitterqueries, share stories and come together in the name of something very special. She’s rarin’ to talk to everyone, about this, the road, the music… and yes, even what she’ll be wearing on the red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where she’s nominated for Top Female Vocalist along with fellow George Strait tour mate Reba, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert.
