Lee Brice Plays Wedding Crasher in Hilarious Video for ‘Soul’
In the fun-filled video for his new single, “Soul,” country star Lee Brice helps a newlywed couple get their marriage off to the best start possible — with a night full of crazy, unforgettable memories.
Crashing a wedding that gets a little out of hand (in a good way), the fedora-wearing hitmaker celebrates a connection that’s built to last, and built for laughs.
Written by Kevin Kadish and Tony Ferrari, “Soul” is the latest single from Brice’s super-successful Hey World album — and a danceable standout from that set. A bouncy blast of country R&B, the track features a West-Coast pop feel with high-flying vocal hooks and a lighthearted chorus, celebrating the nothing-else-matters connection of true soul mates.
For the video, Brice aimed to capture the natural result of that connection, and with help from directors Justin Clough and Chase Lauer, he pulled it off with flair. Centered around a couple so deep in love they even make their minister blush, their wedding ultimately turns into a massive party — complete with confetti, wheelchair dancing, backflips and a demolished wedding cake.
“We had a ball, with every aspect of this song,” Brice says in a statement. “Finding it, (thank you, JR), hearing it the first time, recording it, singing it, mixing it, shooting the video, all of it. I feel like ‘Hey World’ is my most diverse and at the same time cohesive record I’ve ever made. We have fun songs to mix in with the heavier ones and I couldn’t be happier with how this track turned out. The idea that our souls truly connect to each other in unexplainable ways has always been at the core of what I do as a musician, a writer, a producer, and a singer….and I think it’s a good reminder to keep with me every day. I hope everybody loves this song as much as I do.”
Underscoring that thought, “Soul” follows a three-peat of Number One singles from Brice — each one very different from the last. Now more than 13 years since his first hit “Love Like Crazy,” his career resurgence has included “I Hope You’re Happy Now” (with Carly Pearce), “One of Them Girls” and most recently, “Memory I Don’t Mess With.”
