Lil Nas X Becomes Bestselling Author With ‘C Is For Country’

Lil Nas X, the Grammy-winning artist who rose to fame with his infectious single “Old Town Road,” now has a New York Times bestselling book with his children’s book, C Is For Country.

The picture book, released on January 5, teaches children the alphabet by following the story of a young cowboy and his sidekick, Panini the pony, as they take off a multitude of adventures throughout one day. Through these adventures, the book also promotes lessons of love, equality, individuality and family. The entire story is brought to life through colorful illustrations by artist Theodore Taylor III.

Lil Nas X rose to fame in 2019 with the release of his country rap tune, “Old Town Road,” which first found popularity on the video-sharing app, TikTok. After it’s official release, the song spent 19 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified Diamond. The artist released various remixes of the hit featuring artists such as Billy Ray Cyrus, Diplo, Young Thug, and viral sensation Mason Ramsey. The song earned him two Grammy awards as well as many other awards and nominations.
