Listen Now: Loretta Lynn, Sheryl Crow & Miranda Lambert- “Coal Miner’s Daughter”
As we told you earlier this week, some of country’s hottest stars including Carrie Underwood, Reba, and Martina McBride will be featured on an upcoming Loretta Lynn tribute album set for release on November 9.
The new version of “Coal Miner’s Daughter” features Lynn, Sheryl Crow and Miranda Lambert.
Loretta Lynn hand-picked all of the artists who will appear on the album.
“I love Miranda and Sheryl and I really felt they both brought something different singing style wise to this song,” Lynn tells Billboard. “Miranda is so country and has a sassiness to her you can hear it as soon as she sings her first line “my daddy worked all night in the Van Lear coal mine…”! Sheryl adds such a soulfulness to her lines. I loved both. I am so happy and proud they did the song with me.
The track will be available as a digital single on September 28, but Billboard.com has the first listen of the track before it hits radio on September 14.
