Listen UP! (& Contest!!)

We want to introduce you to an awesome sounding singer/songwriter in Nashville named Minnie Murphy. Minnie grew up in a musical family and was no doubt influenced by that. Her father had his own band for several years in New Zealand and her mother was a singer and classical pianist who taught Minnie to play the piano when she was a kid. Minnie is also the half-sister of Jamie O’Neal (“Tryin’ To Find Atlantis,” “Somebody’s Hero”) and has performed with her at the Grand Ole Opry and on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. She was also featured last month in Country Weekly in their “What’s New” section.

You can check out Minnie’s music on her MySpace page – our favorite is “Take Me To Texas” which Minnie co-wrote. Our very first thought was “wow, this is COUNTRY!” A lot of country music has taken on a pop feel in recent years – which has been great – but it was refreshing to hear such a beautiful voice singing a strictly country song. When you listen to this song, you might hear a farmiliar voice in the background – it’s none other than Vince Gill!
