Although Little Big Town is new to the whole awards show hosting gig, each of the members already plans to make the most of the job by getting in some essential prep weeks before the 2018 CMT Music Awards ceremony.

While the group may be rookies to emceeing an event like this (they did previously host the CMT Music Festival’s television special), they plan to follow the tips and tricks from prior hosts. Jokes may get thrown around and admiration will find its way into their monologues, but the quartet can’t resist a little bit of a roast if the opportunity arises.

Nevertheless, Little Big Town is more than aware of the consequences that come with the territory of poking some fun at their fellow country music colleagues.

“I think if we roast with four people it might be overwhelming,” Phillip Sweet said in an interview with CMT.com. “When you prank four-times over, you’re bound to get pranked back.”

One major factor for most awards show hosts revolves around the topic of fashion. When Carrie Underwood or Reba take their places on the stage, they make sure they stuff their closets full with outfit ideas to change into through the show. Sweet mentioned that Jimi Westbrook already lined up his looks for the evening, and reassured fans that there will be multiple costume changes.

“You won’t believe how many jeans and t-shirts Jimi and I are going to change into,” Sweet hilariously added.

The 2018 CMT Music Awards will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 6, at 8 p.m. EST on CMT.
