Live Blogging- Backstage At The 2010 CMT Music Awards Red Carpet

It’s Lauren here BACKSTAGE at the 2010 CMT Music Awards!

The show is off to a great start! How about Taylor Swift’s hair? Faith Hill looks fabulous as always. She and Tim spent a lot of time on the blue carpet taking photos and signing autographs for fans.

The artists are coming in the press area backstage this year.

Kix Brooks just walked in after taking home the CMT Buckle for Duo Video of the Year. Ronnie Dunn is in Santa Fe.

“We don’t hate each other or anything, we just need a break,” Brooks says.

Lady Antebellum took home the CMT Music Award for Group Video of the Year! Well deserved.

SO happy to see Luke Bryan take home the award for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for “Do I.” He sure looked excited and lucky fan gets to take home his sport coat. Luke just came back in the press room to chat about his win. He’s so thankful to the fans and excited to thank them himself tomorrow at his fan club party.

Trailer Choir is backstage chatting now. They just performed their new single on the show. Their talking about their favorite artists and how they used to try to sneak into events like this and now they are here performing at the show.

How about Miranda Lamber’s performance? Gotta love “White Liar!”

The presenters have brought a new twist to the show this year…Loved Paula Deen/ Jersey Shore.

Blake Shelton and Laura Bell Bundy were funny on stage. She says you have something really excited coming up and he’s like yea, I have a new album…Nope, you’re getting married Blake!

Loved LeAnn Rimes’ performance of “Swingin’!” Can’t help but to tap my foot along with that song!

Paula Deen is backstage now! She says she never wears heels and her “pigs” are killing her. She’s talking about reality tv…she says she loves watching “Dancing With The Stars” and “American Idol.” She thought “The Situation” was “so cute” and was “blown away” by his abs. Deen says she loves Tim, Faith, Carrie, Reba, and Trisha Yearwood.

Collaborative Video of the Year winners Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins just walked in the press room. Blake is already making jokes. He is seriously one of the funniest people on the planet. He’s talking about how hot the girls on Fox News and The Weather Channel are. He says that this year has been “pivotal.” Adkins says he would never do “Dancing With The Stars” and he wants to know why in the hell T.O. is here because he doesn’t “like him worth shit.”

Richard Petty just walked in. His discussing his appreciation for country music and how various country stars have helped support his charity, Victory Junction.

The Situation and Snookie are backstage now. Snookie says she’s a closest country fan, but not tonight. She just said “fist pump” for country music…A member of the media asked her if she looks up to Dolly because she has big hair and she said, “I don’t look up to anyone, this is my style.” She likes Tim McGraw and thinks he’s “hot.”

Miranda Lambert just won Female Video of the Year. Wow it’s a good year to be Miranda!

Keith Urban and John Mayer sound fabulous! Looking forward to seeing their CMT Crossroads next week.

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy just walked in. Chmerkovskiy said he’d love to see Sheryl Crow or Faith Hill on DWTS.

Is Kid Rock really smoking on stage while he hosts the show?

Carrie Underwood wins the night’s big honor…Video of The Year for “Cowboy Cassanova.”

Luke Wilson just walked in. He’s talking about being in Willie Nelson’s video. He says he enjoys coming to the shows but he’s just a big fan of country music, so don’t expect him to start playing guitar and singing country music.

Kid Rock just walked in after hosting. He says he loves too many different things to do JUST country music. He’s talking about his upcoming album that features many country artists including Martina McBride and Trace Adkins. He weighed in on the tragic flooding in Nashville and says he’s learned a new word…endearing.

Here’s Carrie Underwood….She’s talking about her fans and can’t thank them enough. She says the biggest trophy is the one she gets to take home….Mike Fisher. How cute!

Keith Urban is backstage in the press room now. He took home the title of Male Video of the Year. He talked about spending time before the show signing autographs for fans and his collaboration with John Mayer. He said he’s excited to be the one to introduce his wife Nicole Kidman to country music and that she’s loving artists like Miranda Lambert and Zac Brown Band.
