Entertainer of the Year nominee Luke Bryan took to the Grand Ole Opry House stage to perform his latest No. 1 hit, “One Margarita,” at the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards. Bryan and his full band stood on the Opry stage in a socially distant fashion as he belted out the summer-fun song. He dressed up for the occasion as well, wearing a festive Hawaiian shirt. Behind him, a large screen showed a graphic of an animated ocean, sun and palm trees. That graphic soon turned to the moon and a sky full of stars overlooking the ocean by the end of the song.
Although there was no audience present for this year’s awards show, Bryan performed the song with his usual energy as if there was an arena full of fans singing along. He also made sure to include the fans watching at home by smiling at the camera as he sang.
Bryan’s rendition of “One Margarita” was his second performance of the night, as he was also part of the show’s opening performance featuring the Entertainer of the Year nominees singing a medley of their hit songs. The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards aired from Nashville, TN on Wednesday, September 16 on CBS after being postponed from their original date in April. The performances are taking place from the Grand Ole Opry House, and the Ryman Auditorium. Other performers include Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Dan + Shay and more.
The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Keith Urban, are live from Nashville tonight (9/16) on CBS at 8/7c.
