Luke Bryan lit up the 2021 CMT Awards with his performance of his latest hit, “Down to One.”
The country superstar took to the stage at Assembly Hall in downtown Nashville with the neon lights of Broadway glowing behind him. Though physically in Music City, lyrically, Bryan transported us to a romantic, starlit Georgia night in the song where he and his lover are, “Down to one beautiful smile / I was done with the girl I want / Straight fallin’ in love / Right there that night / Down to one,” the chart-topping hit maker ending the set with a fireworks display that lit up the Nashville skyline.
“Down to One” became Bryan’s 26th No. 1 hit when it topped the country charts in March 2021. It’s featured on his latest album, Born Here Live Here Die Here that features fellow No. 1 singles “Knockin’ Boots,” “What She Wants Tonight” and “One Margarita.”
After the CMTs, Bryan will look ahead to a number of massive tour plans. The singer has two different trips on the calendar: his headlining Proud To Be Right Here Tour and his Farm Tour. Additionally, Bryan will take up residence in Las Vegas for his own headlining show in the Resorts World Las Vegas hotel.
Other performances from country music’s only fan-voted awards show include Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina and more.
The 2021 CMT Awards, hosted by Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini, will air live on Wednesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET on CMT, MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network and TV Land. Voting is open for Video of the Year from now through Wednesday, June 9. Check out a full list of the nominees here.
