Luke Bryan shared a special pre-taped performance of his sentimental smash, “Up,” on the 57th’s Annual ACM Awards.

Donned in a brown leather jacket, traditional plaid shirt, Bryan had viewers pondering on the meaning of life with his sobering reminder of a song. “Up / In the sky, there’s a guy / Lookin’ down on us / Lookin’ up / Our whole life, raised up right / In a town nobody knows / What a way to grow,” he sings. The 2021 ACM Entertainer of the Year then joined Jordan Davis for their powerful No. 1 hit, “Buy Dirt.”

“Up” was released as a single in October of 2021, marking the superstar’s sixth single off the Born Here Live Here Die Here album — with all five of the previous tracks reaching No. 1 at country radio.

Bryan is currently gearing up to return to ABC’s American Idol as a judge alongside Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, appearing in his fifth season and the show’s 20th season overall.

Marking the first time a major country awards show aired exclusively as a live stream, the 57th annual ACM Awards took place on Monday (March 7) at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. Co-hosted by Dolly Parton with Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, the show featured more than 20 performances and was carried by Amazon Prime Video.
