Luke Bryan Dominates Billboard 200 with ‘Crash My Party’

Luke Bryan has about 528,000 reasons to celebrate this week.

The superstar earned the top spot on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart with his new album, Crash My Party. Moving nearly 528,000 copies in the first week, the album saw the biggest first-week sales by a solo male country artist in nearly nine years (the previous record was set in 2004 with Tim McGraw’s Live Like You Were Dying album, which sold 766,000 copies).

“I’ve never been this excited about an album that I have put out, and the response I have gotten is really humbling and mind-blowing to me,” Luke says. “I am lucky to have some of the best fans in the world, and I am happy to see them enjoying this album as much as I do. I’m just so thankful for my fans and for Country radio for the amazing support.”

These numbers also earned Luke the third best-selling debut of 2013 so far, behind Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience, which sold 968,000 in the first week, and Jay Z’s Magna Carta… Holy Grail, which topped out at a little more than 528,000.

Looks like he’s earning the title of ACM Entertainer of the Year quite nicely!
