Luke Bryan holds true to his country boy roots, but he and his family headed to Australia for a little R&R in a new outback.

Flying hours upon hours to reach their final destination, the country singer and his wife packed up the family’s bags for a getaway halfway around the world. Although the travel didn’t seem ideal for two active boys, Bryan and his wife made do with the circumstances and snapped a couple pictures before taking off.

“Ready or not…here we come Australia! Tate just asked if we could play hide-and-go seek on the plane. 😳 I apologize…in advance…to everyone on this plane. #17hours Kris, Jordan, and Til please get here,” Caroline Bryan joked on her Instagram post.

Good day.

Once they all got their jetlagged feet on the ground, it was off to the races with exploring everything Australia has to offer. While Bryan didn’t post anything about putting some ‘shrimp on the barbie’ or slapping some Vegemite on toast, he and Caroline had a ‘good day’ as the singer called it when they passed by the iconic Sydney Opera House.

It’s not all play for Bryan though, as he took his loved ones with him for a few dates on the What Makes You Country Tour. The “Light It Up” singer will perform a show in Sydney and another in Melbourne, with a date planned out to visit the CMC Festival crowd as well in between.

When Bryan comes back from Down Under, he’ll get back down to business as a judge on American Idol. New episodes of the revived series air Sunday and Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
