Luke Bryan Texted Jon Pardi to Invite Him to Tour
Pardi will never forget the six words that Bryan sent him on that lucky day.
When Jon Pardi found out that Luke Bryan wanted him on tour, it wasn’t through some grand gesture or massive invitation—it was a question via text message.
Although the moment may sound rather anti-climactic for something so important in Pardi’s career, the singer will never forget the six words that Bryan sent him. It may not have sounded like much to any other person, but Pardi savored the question with full intention of saying yes.
“Luke just sent me a text. It was just, ‘Man, you wanna go on tour?’ I was like, ‘Yeah,’” Pardi explained to CMT. “Everybody’s really excited. Because me and Luke, we go way back. We’re buddies. I met Luke in 2011, when we were playing little 1,000-1,500 seat theaters. And then he put ‘Country Girl (Shake It For Me)’ out, and I never saw him again.”

Even though it may have taken a few years for this tour to come into fruition for the both of them, Pardi couldn’t imagine being on the road with anyone else besides his label mate to reminisce on their past memories together.
“When you’ve got history like we do, though, it’s fun to be like, ‘Hey, look at us. We’re still here. And we’re on tour together,” he shared.
Before he hits the road with Bryan though, Pardi is playing in front of Miranda Lambert on her Livin’ Like Hippies Tour during the winter months until around the middle of March.
The second leg of the What Makes You Country Tour, which Pardi will play a few stadiums as well as arenas just before Bryan’s set, marks its first date on May 31 in Toronto, Canada.
