Country superstar Luke Bryan scores the 26th Number One of his career this week, topping country radio charts with “Down to One.”

The fourth single released from Bryan’s 2020 album Born Here Live Here Die Here, “Down to One” was released in October of 2020 and now stands as another dose of “classic Luke Bryan” — even though its sound pushed him farther into pop territory. Since the Georgia native’s breakout in 2007, his friendly, nostalgic brand of scene setting has become a reliable trademark — often with hand-in-hand romance at its center — and his latest hit was no different.

Written by Dallas Davidson, Justin Ebach, Kyle Fishman it now continues a four-for-four streak Bryan’s riding with Born Here Live Here Die Here, with each single hitting Number One.

Just before the album’s August release, the singer-songwriter told Sounds Like Nashville about the album project’s COVID-impacted backstory. And Bryan recently told RADIO.com’s Katie Neal about the filter tracks such as “Down to One” need to go through, before he records them.

“(My kids will) insult me and they don’t even realize they’re insulting me, and that tells me all I need to know,” the hit maker joked.

Currently, Luke Bryan is back on TV as a co-judge on ABC’s American Idol, sharing star billing with Katy Perry and Lionel Richie for the show’s fourth season. Meanwhile, the deluxe edition of Born Here Live Here Die Here will arrive with six new songs on April 9, and those who pre-save it will get the fresh “Drink A Little Whiskey Down” on March 5.
