Luke Bryan’s ‘tailgates & tanlines’ Expected to Land at No.2 on Billboard 200

This time next week, Luke Bryan will likely be celebrating the biggest sales week of his career. The “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” singer is expected to move 115,000 copies of his new studio album tailgates & tanlines this week (according to Billboard.biz). Typically, these numbers would shoot Bryan to the top of the Billboard 200, but this week, it looks as is Bryan will land at No. 2.

Also released August 9, Jay-Z & Kanye West’s Watch the Throne is on track for a No.1 debut as industry insiders predict it will sell more than 500,000 copies this week.

While he won’t be the king of the Billboard 200, Luke will certainly top Billboard’s Country Albums chart and if predictions are on target, tailgates & tanlines will also shatter Luke’s previous first week sales record. His last effort, 2009’s Doin’ My Thing, sold 58,000 copies in its first week.
