Luke Combs was crowned Country Artist of the Year at the 2022 iHeartRadio Awards on Tuesday (March 22), taking home the largest radio network in the nation’s top country prize for an incredible fourth year in a row.

Presented at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the awards serve to celebrate songs and artists which make a major impact on station playlists all over the country, and Combs continues to dominate the airwaves.

“I just want to say thank you so much for making me your Country Artist of the Year,” Combs said in a pre-recorded acceptance speech, since he was not in attendance at the show. “Stuff like this never stops being really, really awesome, so thank y’all so much. Thank you to the fans for listening, my team, my wife, my family, I love you guys. Hopefully many more to come.”

Combs continued a streak which has so far sent each of his singles to Number One at country radio, with last year’s “Cold As You” and “Forever After All” joining the 10 previous hits which date back to 2016 and his “Hurricane” debut. The hitmaker and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year’s current radio single is “Doin’ This,” which was released in November and is currently just outside the Top 10.

Combs wasn’t the night’s only country honoree, however. Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood took home the prize for Country Song of the Year (“If I Didn’t Love You”), while Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album was chosen as Country Album of the Year, and Lainey Wilson was named the Best New Country Artist.

Aldean also delivered a fiery performance of his genre-shifting 2010 hit, “Dirt Road Anthem,” and the ceremony celebrated artists from every genre of American music.

The night’s biggest winners were Dua Lipa, who won Song of the Year for “Levitating;” Olivia Rodrigo, who Female Artist of the Year; and Lil Nas X, Male Artist of the Year. Taylor Swift took home Best Lyrics honors for the 10-minute version of “All Too Well.”
