Skeptical that Luke Combs has officially arrives as a country superstar? How about this for evidence: He just made the list of the 100 most influential people in the world right now, Time’s TIME100 Next.

Named as part of the magazine’s second annual rundown of up-and-coming movers and shakers making a difference around the globe, Combs is listed alongside doctors and scientists, thinkers and activists, public leaders and fellow entertainers. From people working to find a way out of the COVID-19 pandemic, to journalists fighting for truth and equality, the list is a who’s who of people making an impact on daily life, and each one is highlighted by one of their well-known peers.

In Combs’ case, that’s country icon Garth Brooks, who writes a short essay praising Combs’ “sincerity and humility” in a genre full of self promoters. And he has some sage advice for the rising star:

“If I could pull him over and tell him one thing, it would be to just keep doing what he’s doing,” Brooks writes. “Just follow that music. What resonates with him will resonate with the audience, with me, with everybody who’s listening.”

The rest of the list features people like comedian Amber Ruffin, author Brit Bennett, U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock, climate change writer Julian Brave NoiseCat, and more, and on Friday (February 19) at 1PM ET, Luke Combs will help show why he was chosen for the honor. He’ll perform as part of special presentation about the list, taking the virtual stage alongside fellow honorees Dua Lipa, Phoebe Bridgers and Anitta for TIME100 Talks Presents the 2021 TIME100 Next.

In related news, Combs will also livestream a full-concert replay for fans on Thursday (February 18), sharing the vibe from a pre-pandemic show in Lexington, Kentucky, during the What You See Is What You Get Tour. The show kicks off at 8 PM ET his official Facebook and YouTube channels.
