More than 22 million Americans have been diagnosed with Covid-19 so far, and along the way many famous celebs have been sharing their experience. The latest to do so is country star Luke Combs’ wife, Nicole, and she didn’t hold back.

Posting the revelation to her Instagram stories on Saturday (January 9), the 28-year-old explained her symptoms and said she had a particularly bad case of the frightening disease, which continues to infect tens of thousands in the U.S. each day.

“I wish I was like those people that just lost their smell or taste or just didn’t even know they had it,” Hocking Combs said. “But no, I’ve had all the symptoms, except for a fever. It’s beat me up.”

There was no word on when or how the Florida native suspects she contracted Covid-19 — or if the potentially-deadly illness was passed on to her husband, Luke Combs. But the last time she posted on Instagram was Christmas day, when both she and Combs appeared healthy. Hocking Combs went on to say she is thankfully starting to feel better, but called the overall experience “brutal.”

“It’s brutal, but, you know, I am on the up and coming,” she said. “I am feeling great these last two or three days, and hopefully, I test negative soon.”

Reactions to Covid-19 have run the gamut from no symptoms at all to life-threatening, with more than 371,000 Americans dead since an outbreak exploded across the U.S. in early 2020. Country stars including Joe Diffie, Charley Pride and John Prine are among those who have succumb to the disease. Vaccines are currently rolling out around the country.
