Even though the 50th Annual CMA Awards are now long behind us, it doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on all of the cool memories from the famed awards show.
Macey, the little presidential scholar on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, recently received one of the biggest surprises of her young life by getting named as DeGeneres’ correspondent on the CMA Awards red carpet. Taking her little cute self all the way to the bright lights of Music City, Macey geared up for a country gala and got the chance to chat with some of her favorites that graced the carpet that night.
Stepping up her interview game with jars full of free candy and campaign stickers to hand out to all of the artists who stopped by to say hello, Macey definitely charmed the pants off of every one of her guests.
Dan + Shay show up first to her post and give a big shout-out to her grandma at home, who just so happens to be a fan of their music. Then, it’s Darius Rucker that gets things going with a duet rendition of “Wagon Wheel” with the little host.
Meeting huge names like Elle King and Brothers Osborne might have driven Macey’s excitement, but it wasn’t until her conversation with Charlie Daniels that she started to get a tad crazed in her fangirl ways. Telling Daniels that he inspired her dad and now her to play the fiddle, he makes an offer that she (or anyone else, for that matter) couldn’t refuse.
“Oh, you’re playing the fiddle? Well, you come play with me sometime, ok,” he proposes in the clip, which results in a celebratory dance party by Macey herself.
Check out who all Macey had the pleasure to speak with at the CMA Awards in the video above.
