Eight-year-old presidential expert Macey Hensley and her family have been venturing across the United States in an exciting road trip planned by The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Piled into a special RV, Hensley and her family came to the last leg of their voyage with stops in Arizona.
While the young scholar was thrilled to visit Tombstone, home of the O.K. Corral gunfight, Hensley was over the moon when she had the chance to meet country duo Sugarland. Ahead of their concert in Glendale at the Gila River Arena, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush stopped by Hensley’s backstage area for a surprise meet and greet.
Eyes lighting up upon meeting the “Babe” singers, Hensley quickly prompted the duo for an adorable sing-along of their song “Stuck Like Glue,” a song Hensley’s mom Nichole frequently thinks is “satellite blue.” Nettles and Bush quickly admitted that they maybe got the words wrong all those years ago.
The stop in Glendale wasn’t complete, however, without Hensley and her family checking out the Still the Same Tour, to which the little girl sang her heart out.
“This was the best day ever,” said Hensley as she wiped tears from her eyes.
The Hensley family road trip wrapped with a stop at the Grand Canyon, to which she enjoyed “grand sandwich” with her “grandma,” “grand-mother” and “grand-father.”
