In the midst of developing their sophomore release, Maddie & Tae have moved over to Universal Music Group Nashville as their new label home.

The country duo started out at Dot Records, an entity of Big Machine Label Group in Nashville. After putting out their debut record, Start Here, with the label, the girls made the move over to UMG in order to launch the next step of their musical careers. While the news hasn’t exactly been updated through the UMG website, Maddie & Tae have been openly talking about their signing.

“Our team [at UMG Nashville] is really allowing us to grow up and not shy away from the more mature side of us,” Maddie Marlow of the group told The Boot over the weekend.

Maddie & Tae are most known for hits like “Girl in a Country Song” and “Fly.” While they’ve been touring and performing live for many months, the two haven’t locked down an upcoming single as they’ve been kneading out the details of their switch from Dot Records to Universal Music Group Nashville.

Details regarding Maddie & Tae’s next album have yet to be announced, but fans can expect a movement soon as they work together with their new executives to push toward their forthcoming musical endeavor.
