Country hit maker Maren Morris marks a personal milestone this week — the seven year anniversary of her arrival in Nashville. And wow, what a journey it’s been.

Sharing her moment with a reflective post to Instagram, the 29-year-old Texas native talked about just how far she’s come. Landing in Music City with little more than a few (admittedly) sub par demos and a guitar, Morris highlighted the hard work she put in and the friends who helped her along the way. Considering she’s now a Grammy winner with two No.1 albums and multiple Platinum-certified, chart-topping hits to her credit, it’s been seven years well spent.

“Looking at the gap between these photos, I actually do know where the time goes,” Morris wrote. “It gets encapsulated in each fantastic, mundane, life-changing, soul-crushing, mediocre, hallelujah song in my catalogue. Cheers to 7 years, Nashville, and to the friends here I now am lucky to call family.”

Meanwhile, the mom-to-be also shared some news on the pregnancy front — helping bandmate Annie Clements announce that she, too, has a baby on the way. And while she was on the subject, the country star also seized an opportunity to start a conversation about mothering as a touring musician.

“I love that we’ll get to experience this new-mom-on-the-road life together,” Morris told her friend.
