Congratulations are in order for Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, who are officially engaged. Hurd popped the question recently and Morris shared the exciting news with several photos of the couple and her new ring posted on Instagram on Sunday (July 9) with a simple caption: “Yes.”
While no details on when the proposal happened were revealed, Hurd alludes to the special moment possibly having been on July 3 as the “Love In A Bar” singer shared a photo of he and Morris on a boat ride on his Instagram page dated 7/3/17.
The couple first met in the writing room in Nashville several years ago. They have penned several songs together, including Tim McGraw’s “Last Turn Home.” Both Morris and Hurd have shared their victories and love for one another openly on social media throughout their relationship.
“Years ago we made a pact. A handshake that we’d try this “artist thing” out because our hearts were telling us to do so, but we also agreed we’d never let ego or jealousy precede the love we have for one another. Saw you close your first ever tour this week and just a few short years ago, I was meeting you in a dimly lit writing room somewhere; intrigued and smiling like a lunatic at a boy with a legal pad full of song titles. You’ve been at my side for every award & moment, and now I get to see you shake this world up. Chase your dream and cheer theirs on, too,” Morris captioned a photo of the two in April on Instagram.
