Martina McBride has come out with a number of tracks that send out strong and powerful messages to her fans. Using her voice to bring some source of inspiration to people, McBride finds great honor in being that artist for those who need a bit of uplifting to get through the hard times.

As the face of the Sarah Cannon Tour for Band Against Cancer, McBride has dedicated her time and her music to raise awareness in the fight against cancer. The tour, which hits a handful of cities nationwide, is just one way that McBride has given back and created something more meaningful than many other outlets.

But McBride doesn’t take these opportunities for granted as she always feels completely honored to be able to take on that role in country music.

“Yeah, well I believe that music is really powerful. It’s the soundtrack of our lives. It helps us through hard times and lifts us up when we need it. I feel like I’ve been really fortunate that I have been able to find some songs throughout my career that have really effected people in a really lasting way, you know, that have made a difference. It’s not something I do on purpose. I don’t really go out looking for songs that are going to affect people that way, but when I hear a song like “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” or ‘Independence Day,’ or ‘Broken Wing,’ or whatever, I’m moved to record those songs because I feel like they will be someone’s story. I’ve always said I feel like sometimes it makes people feel less alone. Sometimes you just don’t have the words to say and I feel like especially with a song like, ‘I’m Gonna Love You Through It,’ gives someone the words to say. So yeah, it’s a privilege to be able to have songs that make an impact on people and change their lives in a way,” McBride explained recently.

Currently, McBride is spreading her voice and her music on the Sarah Cannon Tour with artists like Cassadee Pope, Thompson Square and Hudson Moore. Dates and information about the tour are available on McBride’s website.
