Matt Stell has scored a second consecutive Number One single to kick off his career, hitting the top of the country charts with “Everywhere But On.”

Sitting at the peak of both the Country Aircheck/Mediabase and Billboard Country Airplay radio charts this week, the news puts Stell in good company, as he’s only the seventh new artist in the last five years to score back-to-back hits. The song itself is a propulsive heartbreak anthem with a clever lyrical twist, all about a guy who keeps on the move to avoid thinking about the one who got away, and Stell says it was a special one for him even before it became his second Number One.

“It is tough for me to be at a loss for words, but I am,” he says in a press statement.  “As a songwriter, to experience this twice in a row is just the best feeling. There is a lot of me in this song and that makes this extra special. I am so grateful to country radio and all of the hard-working people on my team!”

“Everywhere But On” was co-written by Stell with Paul Sikes and Lance Miller, and follows his multi-week No. 1 Platinum-certified debut smash, “Prayed For You.” Both tracks are featured on his 2020 EP Better Than That, which was released in October.

In celebration of the success, Stell is donating $5,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through his Give A Damn Foundation. These proceeds were raised from his pre-COVID “Give A Damn” pop-up shows, Cameo appearances, and the “Give A Damn” wristbands that he sells on his website. Charities who have received Give A Damn donations thus far include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Doctors Without Borders and the Humane Society.
