Tony Evans Jr. is an up-and-coming singer with a classic country voice. The 23-year-old Georgia resident has been making waves and gaining fans on TikTok for over a year now, with country fans especially gravitating toward his low and sultry voice. His videos regularly acquire tens of thousands of views, and a cover of Josh Turner’s “Your Man” from January received over 1 million views.
“TikTok is something else — I just started singing online and just posting consistently and people started to like it,” Evans told Sounds Like Nashville. “I never imagined it would grow as quick as it did, but that’s just the way that it happened. I guess people just really gravitated towards what I was doing and it just blew up. I’m thankful for it.”
“Country music also looks like this @tonyevansjr stud muffin. I am shooketh. Not sure he has a record deal but if he doesn’t, he needs one ASAP,” wrote Guyton.
“She just really praised me and that means a whole lot coming from the people that are in the game doing what I want to do,” said Evans. “Just like with people like Jimmie Allen. Jimmie Allen’s been supportive of me and rooting me on and cheering me on through this, so I really appreciate all of that from the guys in the game.”
Now, with almost 420K followers, Evans continues posting cover videos as well as sharing his own original music. Evans’ latest original single, “Hotel Room,” was released in March. The singer wrote the tune on a drive from Georgia to Nashville. Evans has also been working on an EP of original music called Bedtime Stories, which will be released soon.
