After the leak of the vulgar comments made by Donald Trump during a recorded bus interview back in 2005, The Voice runner-up Meghan Linsey is speaking out about a past sexual assault experience she went through.

Linsey originally took to her private Facebook page to post about the account and allowed Yahoo to publish the recollection on their main site. While she does not name names about the incident, she described in great detail what happened to her and how it occurred during her time touring with Steel Magnolia.

“This is lengthy. And as much as I have tried to not talk about the election the last few days, I feel like this is important enough to share. To my friends defending Donald Trump’s disgusting comments about women. When I was touring with Steel Magnolia in 2010, a very powerful man in the music business grabbed up my skirt. He was groping me and proceeded to try to pick me up by my ass on a bus in front of a lot of important people,” the post reads. “I was mortified and told him not to touch me and to put me down. It caused quite a scene and I could tell that he was embarrassed and angry. The next night he came up behind me and whispered in my ear, he said, ‘I have boats bigger than you could ever imagine, and I could put you in the middle of the ocean where no one would ever hear from you again. Just remember that.’ He laughed and walked away.”

Linsey goes on to say she kept the incident a secret due to her fear of losing her music career and not being able to continue on pursuing her dreams. She also expressed great disdain toward Trump and his lewd comments describing sexual assault. She discussed how his words promote rape culture and the negative effects of such behavior toward women. She ultimately defends her previous choice to not vote for Trump after this story hit close to home for the country singer.
