Michael Ray is shedding light onto the importance of mental health after losing a close family member.
The country singer opened up about the sudden passing of his aunt in a poignant Instagram post and explained how vital it is to take care of yourself mentally at all times.
“We said goodbye to my aunt Debbie yesterday. I’m making this post because mental health and depression are very real! My aunt battled it for a long time and took her own life. I wanted to share this as a reminder to pls check on your loved ones that might not seem ok, make the call to tell someone you love them and they matter. I wish we could have done something more to have stopped this but we didn’t know it was this bad,” he wrote honestly.
Ray also suggested resources for those who may be suffering and battling mental health issues in their daily lives, and encouraged his followers to seek help at any moment.
