Michael Ray Gets a Taste of ‘Real Miami’ Nightlife in ‘One That Got Away’ Video

Miami’s famed South Beach is known for steamy days and sultry nightlife, but in Michael Ray’s new video for “One That Got Away” he discovers another side to the famous destination.

The video opens with a montage of South Beach hotspots before catching up with Ray as he sits alone at a deserted bar in a touristy area. The female bartender steps in to spice up his night by slipping him a note that reads “Real Miami. Five min. Alley door.”

Intrigued, Ray follows his host and they get moving for a busy night of fun and festivities. After the leading lady changes her bartending outfit for something more fitting, the two embark on an adventure that leaves Ray wanting more when the night ends.

While the two remain the focus of the Sean Hagwell-directed clip, the Florida native wanted to make sure Miami was highlighted as a staple to the storyline.

“We wanted to treat Miami as its own character in this video because we felt that this city really had a personality and an energy of its own — reminiscent of the energy I feel on stage night-after-night, city-after-city when we play this song live,” Ray recalled. “I also wanted to get outside of my comfort zone. So, we flew down to Miami and what you see in this video was really us experiencing all these things together; really just being in the moment.”

The track, featured on Ray’s latest release Amos, was co-written by Josh Osborne, Jesse Frasure and Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey and Trevor Rosen.

Ray will soon hit the road with the men of OD, opening for Happy Endings World Tour.
