Singer Mickey Guyton has been using her powerhouse voice to speak up for those without one, penning some of the most prolific new songs in recent years. Her insightful work will be celebrated and packaged together when the Bridges EP drops on September 11.

“Two years ago, this project didn’t feel like it was even a possibility,” shares Guyton in a press release. “This EP proves that in your darkest moments, you can have your biggest breakthroughs. I think back to all of the obstacles in my life and career, including writing and recording most of this EP in quarantine during a time of social unrest, and how it has all led to the birth of this beautiful project. I hope these songs provide others with the same happiness and strength they have provided me in these uncertain times.”

The six-song EP will feature Guyton’s most powerful and moving work to date, including her songs “Black Like Me,” which calls out social and racial injustices; “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?,” a song that asks for honesty when teaching young girls about the real world; and “Heaven Down Here,” her latest track which asks for a few more answered prayers.
