Congratulations are in order for the lead singer of Midland, Mark Wystrach. The mustachioed honky tonk crooner and his wife welcomed their second child on Sunday (November 5).

Sharing the news via Instagram post, Wystrach and wife Ty Haney introduced a son he called “Champie,” thanking fans for the prayers and noting the little guy weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds 13 ounces.

“I present to you, our lil hombre… “Champie” born happy and healthy yesterday at precisely 5 o’clock 🍻!” Wystrach wrote, captioning a photo of himself with Champie nestled on his chest. “Thanks for all of your prayers and positive thoughts for Ty and our son…They’re doing great and Im overwhelmed with joy! Btw, he was 8lbs 13 oz!”

Champie now joins his big sister, Sundance “Sunny” Leon, who was born in November 2019 and had a scary arrival. As reported at the time, Sunny and Ty were rushed to an emergency C-section due to a fetal-maternal hemorrhage that caused Sunny’s heart to stop. For her second birthday last month, Wystrach shared some photos from Sunny’s birth and the happy girl she’s gone on to be.

Ty and Wystrach announced their second pregnancy in October, noting how excited Sunny was to start her new big-sis role. On the day of Champie’s arrival, the Midland front man also shared a moving tribute to his wife’s strength and grace.

“Wow. @ty_haney has blown me away with how gracefully she has handled this pregnancy while building her new company and raising our bouncy lil girl all while I have been away much of the time on the road with @midland,” he wrote. “Watching the miracle of this lil boy growing inside of you has been life changing in many ways and I am forever grateful to have the woman of my dreams as my partner, lover and best friend…Please keep Ty and our lil baby boy in your thoughts and prayers as we will be delivering him today. 👱🏼‍♀️🌵🌙🌎⚡️✨👨‍👩‍👧‍👦”

Meanwhile, Wystrach is currently hard at work on a new docu-drama on the life of Christian televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker Messner. He’s co-starring opposite Jessica Chastain in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
