It’s an all-around family affair for Miley Cyrus as she selected her father and country music star, Billy Ray Cyrus, to join as her adviser on this season of NBC’s The Voice.

Over the years, Miley has always kept her dad close to her as she rose to success quickly in her young career. Throughout her time in acting and singing, Billy Ray helped her out through thick and thin. Miley knows how much experience he could lend to her team members, and couldn’t think of a better mentor to get her to take home the trophy this year.

“DAD ALWAYS HAS THE BEST ADVICE! Which of course makes him the perfect advisor!!!!!! @billyraycyrus#TeamMiley,” she captioned her announcement post on Instagram.

When they stopped by the Today show to talk about their collaboration on the reality competition show, Miley joked about how her dad hasn’t gone through a huge change like she has recently and that he still embraces his true country side by never cutting his mullet off.

Billy Ray Cyrus completes the list of guest advisers of this season, which also includes Joe Jonas giving advice to Adam Levine, Rascal Flatts teaming up with Blake Shelton and Kelly Rowland will be with Jennifer Hudson.

Season 13 of The Voice will premiere Monday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
