Miranda Lambert, Bobby Bones and more are taking roles in a new scripted podcast, joining the Nashville-meets-Hollywood cast of Make It Up As We Go

Described as a first of its kind series that takes fans deep inside the making of a hit song — and all the drama that comes with it — the eight-part podcast was created by Audio Up CEO Jared Gutstadt and actor/songwriter Scarlett Burke. But it’s not your average podcast. With an all-star cast of actors and musicians, it follows the story of an aspiring young songwriter (Burke), revealing what really happens inside Music City’s writing rooms and the colorful charters that populate them.

Lambert has signed up as a feature cast member and executive producer, while other roles are played by Bones, Dennis Quaid, Billy Bob Thornton, Lindsay Ell and Craig Robinson, and original music is provided by Ell, Lambert, Burke and chart-topping songsmith, Nicolle Galyon.

“I’m excited to be a part of this project because it is an authentic story that shows the challenges female singer/songwriters face within the industry,” Lambert explains.

“As a songwriter, we tell stories through our music and hope those songs find the right home and our stories reach a listener,” says Burke. “Creating this platform of being able to do both without the live component brings me hope for more creative control for songwriters and artists and that no matter your story or your style, there is an audience out there waiting for you. I wanted to capture the story of a woman in music as authentic as we could and all the challenges along the way to a win. I hope this series brings listeners to a place of experiencing the songwriting process as if they were in the room as we take them along the journey of how a song travels from writer to artist and finds its home.
