Miranda Lambert Cancels Shows Due to Illness

We’re sending out get well wishes to Miranda Lambert today. The “Fastest Girl In Town” singer was forced to cancel this weekend’s show due to illness.

A statement posted to Lambert’s official website reads: “Due to overextending her voice, Miranda has been placed on vocal rest. She’s under the care of her doctor and she hopes to return to the road next weekend.”

The superstar was scheduled to perform in Varysburg, NY at the Buffalo Hill Village/Jam In The Valley tonight and at the Toyota Pavilion in Scranton, PA tomorrow. While Lambert’s show at the Toyota Pavilion will be rescheduled to another date, the Jam in the Valley show will go on as planned. Organizers booked Gretchen Wilson and Sawyer Brown at the last minute to fill in for Miranda.

Lambert’s next scheduled tour stop is July 12 in Orange Beach, AL.
