Everyone knows the stereotypical Starbucks flub of the baristas messing up the spelling on every customer’s cup name. That’s where Miranda Lambert throws off the coffee chain’s employees by giving them a bit of a riddle when it comes to her order name.
Lambert dropped by The Bobby Bones Show to chat with the hosts and revealed her secret method of getting coffee while visiting the popular café chain. Rather than keep it basic and let her true identity be known, the country star enjoys playing a little game of ‘Guess Who’ by experimenting with different characters to who she actually is. Playing coy about the whole scheme at first, Lambert then revealed to host Bobby Bones what her former go-to was back when she’d pick up a latte.
“Sometimes I say Miranda, sometimes I make up something,” she admitted. “It used to be Tara Dactyl. But I had to change it because people figured it out.”
While Lambert said she used the alter ego to merely order a cup of joe to go, she also threw the name around when she got a little bit rowdy after the alcohol started to flow.
“I used to be Tara Dactyl, that was my alter ego—Tara Dactyl—when I would get a little too much whiskey in me probably. And now I’ve changed my dinosaur to ‘T-Ran,’” Lambert joked.
When “Tara Dactyl” isn’t stopping by her local coffeehouse, she’s out there promoting her new single, “Tin Man,” which is on radio now.
