Though music while touring is her main focus, Miranda Lambert always finds ways to help the causes close to her heart. On each of her past several tours, the singer has collected donations from her fans for rescue animals, in partnership with her 501c nonprofit, MuttNation.
On her most recent stint with Little Big Town on the “Bandwagon Tour,” Lambert’s fans helped Fill the Little Red Wagon by bringing record amounts of dog food, treats, toys, supplies and cash to each of the tour stops.
“My fans always amaze me with their compassion and generosity,” shared Lambert, the owner of eight rescue dogs. “Knowing so many of us share this love for shelter pets adds another special connection between us and, when I get to hear some of the fans’ stories about their rescues, it always touches my heart.”
One of the rescues benefiting from the Fill the Little Red Wagon endeavor is Houston’s Corridor Rescue, which received an abundance of much-needed supplies.
“It was a huge blessing for us to get the exposure and all of the donations from Miranda’s generous fans,” shared the rescue’s Catherine Hoffman.
Fans in Pittsburgh donated more than 350lbs of dog food and 75 lbs of treats, among other items to the Animal Friends of Pittsburg organization.
Fill the Little Red Wagon is a key piece to the MuttNation Foundation’s programs. MuttNation was founded in 2009 by Lambert and her mom, Bev, to assist with the adoption of shelter animals. To help continue giving to shelter animals in need, keep up with MuttNation on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
