Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney Lead Merle Haggard Tribute Lineup
Tickets for the star-studded event go on sale Friday, March 3.
The life and music of the late Merle Haggard will be honored this spring with a star-studded tribute concert, Blackbird Presents An All-Star Concert Celebration Sing Me Back Home: The Music of Merle Haggard. Hosted in Nashville, TN, the concert will be held at Bridgestone Arena on April 6, marking both Haggard’s birthday and the day he passed away.
Haggard’s son Ben revealed the impressive lineup with a photo shared to his official Facebook page. Taking the stage to honor the legendary singer/songwriter will be Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Willie Nelton, Loretta Lynn, Ronnie Dunn, Hank Williams, Jr., Kacey Musgraves and many others.
Haggard passed away in 2016 on his 79th birthday, after being diagnosed with double pneumonia. His son Ben revealed that Haggard had predicted that he’d pass on his birthday just a week prior. “A week ago dad told us he was gonna pass on his birthday, and he wasn’t wrong,” Ben said at the time. “He loved everything about life and he loved that everyone of you gave him a chance with his music. He wasn’t just a country singer. He was the best country singer that ever lived.”
