A handful of Country music stars made their way to Louisville, KY this past weekend for the 139th Kentucky Derby. Stars including Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Kix Brooks, and Martina McBride attended the derby and select pre-derby galas.
ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan kicked the weekend off with a performance at the Unbridled Eve Gala. Money raised from the event will be donated to Blessings in a Backpack, an organization that ensures impoverished elementary school children are fed on the weekends throughout the school year.
“I’m really honored to be here and to help raise money for a great cause,” Bryan told the Courier-Journal. “I’m also looking forward to seeing my first Kentucky Derby.”
Lambert, who has attended the famous race each year since she celebrated her bachelorette party there in 2011, attended the Barnstable Brown Gala on Friday and the race on Saturday.
