With the country and roots music worlds mourning the loss of the great tunesmith John Prine — who died from coronavirus complications on April 7 — stars like Miranda Lambert have taken to social media to vent their devastation.

Posting a series of videos to her Instagram story Tuesday night, just hours after news of Prine’s passing became public, the “Bluebird” singer shared her hero’s impact — which even shows up in her daily life. Lambert got to know Prine as a student and fan of his incisive writing, but soon became friends, and she incorporated that friendship into the design of her Nashville home.

On her Instagram stories, she showed viewers a video of the fire pit at her farm, designed like a globe and engraved with lyrics from Prine’s song, “That’s the Way the World Goes ‘Round.” “John wrote these lyrics for me and signed it and we had them cut into the metal,” she shared. “He really did light my world on fire. All of ours.”
