Miranda Lambert Shows Off New, Slimmer Figure at CMA Awards

Miranda Lambert turned heads with her new, slimmed down figure at “The 47th Annual CMA Awards” on Wednesday. The superstar, who took home her fourth consecutive CMA Female Vocalist of the Year trophy during the telecast, spoke about her new look with reporters backstage after the show.

“I’ve been working out, but this thing is heavy,” she said as she stepped up the to microphone to address the room full of press.

When asked about her noticeable weight loss, Lambert replied, “I just feel like I needed to get ahead of the game – I’m going to be 30 on Sunday and people say, are you OK about turning 30 and I guess I am, but I guess I’m not because I feel like everybody always says ‘It goes downhill from there.’ So I just thought, maybe if I get ahead of it a little I won’t have to work so hard later in life.”

She went on to reflect on the hectic lifestyle that she lived throughout the past decade. “All through my 20s I worked a lot – I was on the road since I was 17 and the road life is a lot of fast food and a lot of late nights and a lot of drinking – I didn’t give up drinking. I refused. You have to drink to put up with my husband! Just kidding,” she said with a laugh. “But I just felt that I should get a little more healthy and I have a record coming out in the spring and it’s a very important album to me – it’s my fifth album – and I have this spot, I found a great spot in country music and I want to keep it.”

She added, “I want people to know that I care – that I found my niche and I care about it in all aspects, musically and my songs that I write and what I talk about and I want to look the part too. So just finding a new spot in my life and working hard. I didn’t give up really a lot really. Just Cheetos mostly! But I might have some tonight, just to celebrate.”

One person who definitely noticed her new figure is her husband, Blake Shelton. “My wife is so hot it’s ridiculous,” he tweeted prior to the CMA Awards.
