Miranda Lambert decided to spread the love to shelter animals around the country this Valentine’s Day, challenging fans to volunteer with a special contest.

With her “Pledge to Volunteer” initiative, she inspired thousands of supporters of her MuttNation Foundation to volunteer their time at local animal shelters — and in return those shelters were entered in a drawing to receive one of ten $1,000 MuttNation Foundation grants. One volunteer would also be chosen for the grand prize of concert tickets and a meet-and-greet with the superstar at an upcoming show, and now those winners have been revealed.

“Shelter pets have the biggest hearts and I wanted to show them some extra love on Valentine’s Day,” Lambert said in a statement. “We started the Pledge to Volunteer last year and had nearly 500 people, which was great. This year, over 2,000 MuttNation supporters joined the challenge, and I want to send out a huge ‘thank you’ to all of them. It’s amazing to have that kind of a response because shelters everywhere rely so heavily on support from their communities.”

Andrea Shike of Wisconsin was named the lucky grand prize winner, while 10 shelters from all four corners of the country received the $1,000 grants:

Lambert will return to the road for her 2020 Wildcard Tour next weekend, with dates scheduled through May 9 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, featuring LANCO and Cody Johnson.
