Montgomery Gentry To Receive Humanitarian Award
The Academy of Country Music announced this week that Montgomery Gentry is the recipient of the 2010 Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award.
“Thanks to everyone out there who has helped us to get where we are today,” Montgomery said in a release from the ACM. “We just want to make sure we do our part in making the world a little better.”
Montgomery Gentry was selected because of their extensive charity efforts with the United States military, TJ Martell Foundation; Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee; Camp Horsin’ Around in Lexington Ky.; St. Jude’s Research Hospital; Hospice of the Bluegrass; Multiple Myeloma Foundation; Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation; and many other causes.
The duo will receive the award during the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast on April 18th.
