Morgan Wallen Performs ‘Chasin’ You’ From Tennessee Cave on 2020 CMT Awards

Morgan Wallen performed his nostalgic hit single, “Chasin’ You,” at the 2020 CMT Awards on Wednesday, October 21. This year’s award show performances are taking place from various locations across Middle Tennessee, and Wallen’s performance took place from a dramatically decorated cave called Ruskin Cave in Dickson TN.
The performance saw Wallen and his band inside the cave, with Morgan standing inside a circle formed by string lights on the floor. His band was placed behind and around him, and bottles lit up with lights inside surrounded the band on all sides. Lights were also strung from the ceiling of the cave, and purple spotlights added more drama to the intimate space. Wallen performed the song without a guitar in hand, focusing more on the song’s lyrics about chasing lost love.
Wallen was introduced by Thomas Wesley, or Diplo, who he has collaborated with in the past. Wallen was nominated for Male Video of the Year at the show, which was won by Luke Bryan. Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Sam Hunt and Thomas Rhett were also nominated in that category. This performance likely marks Wallen’s last for some time as the singer plans to take some time out of the limelight following a string of partying that pulled him from his first appearance on Saturday Night Live.
