Morgan Wallen took to the 54th Annual CMA Awards stage on Wednesday, November 11th to perform his bittersweet hit, “More Than My Hometown.”

Dressed in his signature casual country look, Wallen stood at the microphone to belt out the tune with his acoustic guitar while his band backed him up. Behind the singer, a photo of a country road leading into his hometown of Sneedville, Tennessee was shown. The drawing-like photo started off black and white at the beginning of the performance, and then filled in with bight colors, before going back to black and white at the end of the song.

“More Than My Hometown” is currently inside the Top 5 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Wallen debuted the track’s official video back in August and released the video for another track, “7 Summers,” earlier this week. Both will appear on his upcoming sophomore album, which has yet to be announced.

Co-hosted by Darius Rucker and Reba McEntire, the 54th Annual CMA Awards aired live on ABC from Nashville’s Music City Center on November 11. Morgan Wallen was up for New Artist of the Year during the night’s ceremony.
